Robert "Bob" Carraco

Robert Arthur “Bob” Carraco died October 8, 2017. He was the son of the late Jesse Demint and Juanita Mitchell Carraco of Carrollton and Hodgenville. He was predeceased by his sister Nancy Carraco Marcum. He is survived by his wife Carol Crowe Carraco, daughter Sarah Beth Carraco McIvor, son Will Carraco (Megan), grandson Brock McIvor, three nephews and several cousins and their families, and many friends.
He attended Hanover College and the University of Kentucky where he was a member of Sigma Epsilon and graduated from Western Kentucky University and University of Kentucky Law School. A veteran and an officer, he served in the US Army in Vietnam and in Europe, and received various military honors including Silver Star, Bronze Star, and Purple Heart. A member of Christ Episcopal Church, he served on the vestry, taught Church School for over a decade, and coached the Church basketball team. Former Chairman of the BG American Red Cross, he was active in Boy Scouts, the Masons, the Shriners, the Moose, and the American Legion.
An avid golfer, hunter, fisherman, and cross word puzzle and sports fan, “Captain Crack” had an awesome personality and was a joy to know. He truly “did it his way.” Funeral services will be Saturday, October 14, 2017@ 11:00 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church. Visitation will be Friday, October 13, 2017, from 4-7PM at the same location. A private burial will be in Carrollton at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the CEC Youth Program, the Boy Scouts of America, or a charity of your choice.
