Mark E. McDonald, 70, of Bowling Green gained his wings on August 6, 2018 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.

The Georgetown, Kentucky native was born to the late Harold Edward McDonald and Helyn Frances (Hambrick) McDonald Smith. He was also preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Scott McDonald. He was employed at Country Oven Bakery for 22 years, Holley Carburetor for 19 years, and was the owner of Mac’s Radio and TV. Mark loved God, his family, and friends. When not working, he enjoyed working on any type of motor vehicle, fishing and boating, animals, and perfecting his BBQ rubs and smoking meats. He always thought of others before his self.

Survivors include his wife, Betty (Horton) McDonald; daughter, Angela Jo McDonald of Bowling Green; brother, Gary W. ‘Gus’ McDonald (Sandy) of Lawrenceburg; Step-brother, Gary Smith (Marcia); sisters-in-law, Joyce Westerfield (Roy), Shirley Singleton (Ray), Lorie Ward (Jerry), and Bonnie Horton; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel with visitation from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the New Bethel Cemetery in Ohio County. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Bowling Green Warren County Humane Society.
