Obituary

Lucille “Carrol” Hoagland, 79 of Bowling Green passed away on July 7, 2019 at the Medical Center. She was a native of Hartford, Kentucky and the daughter of the late Arrel Himes and Lucille Felty Himes. Carrol was a member of Eastwood Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir for many years. She was a School Teacher for Bowling Green City Schools and is a former Kentucky Mother of the Year. She was Treasurer for the Bowling Green Woman's Club and also a member of The T.C. "Cherry Chicks."

She is survived by her two sons; Eric Hoagland, wife Jenny, Hendersonville, TN, Kelly Embry wife Samantha, Smiths Grove, KY, niece but cherished as a daughter; Andrea Coleman, husband Kenny, Russellville, KY. Her grandchildren include Jake Holder, Gabe Hoagland, Mollie Hoagland, Amelia Hoagland, Maddie Howell, Allie Howell, Bennett Howell, Nola Howell, Mary Beth Embry, Adam Embry, Taylor Smith, nephew, Nick Coleman, niece, Grace Coleman and several other cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents, her late husband; Billy Joe Hoagland, a sister; Elaine Crea and a brother; Arrel Rowe Himes.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at J. C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford, KY. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, school supplies be brought to the funeral home and will be donated to local schools.
