Born in Bowling Green
Resided in Bowling Green, KY

Lana Young, 62, left her earthly home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, after her valiant fight with cancer. Twelve years ago, Lana was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, and for those twelve years, she never let anything stop her. She took treatments with courage and never complained. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love for her family kept her fighting. She has just been gone a few days, yet is so deeply missed already. A quiet silence is in the hearts of those who love her, but the expanse of her love and memories will live on forever.

Lana thought her greatest legacy was her daughters and their families. She loved "her girls" with every ounce of her being. Just when you thought she couldn't love anymore, she would tell you about her 6 grandchildren. She was the most devoted Nana, and her grandkids were the light of her world. Lana had a ferocious love for her five boys and one special girl. Her favorite thing to do was to watch them playing sports and doing the things they loved. She also loved her two sons in law and the way they took special care of her. Lana enjoyed spending time with her family; they were her everything. She could light up a room with her laughter and sense of humor. She was the daughter of the late Harold Embry and the late Henrietta Cherry Embry and a member of Richardsville Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Sheri Whittle (Mike), Bowling Green, Heather Wilson (Anthony), Colorado Springs, CO; one sister, Carolyn Basham (Jerry), Richardsville; three brothers, Harold Wayne Embry, Lousiville, Dallas Embry (late Geneva), Bowling Green, Larry Embry (Marie) Pine Knot, KY; six grandchildren, Jacob, Chase and Aiden Wilson and Caden, Carter and Ella Whittle; special girl, Chelsea Young; two special friends, Pam Wallace and Barbara Bobbett; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Elaine White.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday, May 15, 2017 at J.C. Kirby and Son, Lovers Lane Chapel with burial in the Bowling Green Gardens. Visitation will be after 2:00 pm Sunday and after 9:00 am Monday at the funeral home.

Our family would love to give a very special thank you to the sweet team at the Medical Center on 4C that gave their loving assistance and devoted care to our mom.
