Jean Passed on to her heavenly home on Saturday night the twelfth of May, from complications following heart surgery at the Medical Center.

Jean was born June first 1938 in Augusta Maine to Margaret Waudby Gile and Harold Curtis Gile. Jean grew up in Kittery and Eliot Maine, moving to Pennsylvania at age 15. She attended school in Eliot graduating high school in 1956 at Red Lion, Pennsylvania. Jean received a B.S. degree in Christian Education From Toccoa Falls College in 1963. She married Baughn Lasseter in 1963 and they served in several Churches across the South, North, and Midwest. After Baughn's death in 1981 she relocated to Kittery and was married to Elmer Lewis. Together they raised the six children of their combined families. Later they raised twin grandsons.

In addition to her parents Jean was predeceased by a brother Leon Gile. She is survived by two Brothers Harold and John, her husband of nearly thirty six years, Elmer, two sons Stephen and Allan and four daughters, Ginger, Kathryn, Lisa, and Marilee, as well as eighteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Whether hers, Elmer’s or married in, she loved each as her own.

Jean was a devoted Christian from her early twenties on serving in any way that she could at the churches she attended.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 14 at Bethany Baptist Church (659 Alvaton-Greenhill Road, Bowling Green, KY 42103) with burial to follow at the Bethany Community Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel.
