Jan Isom, age 66, of Bowling Green, passed away at the Hospice House on March 5th after fighting a 14 year battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born September 8, 1951 in Chicago, IL. and was preceded in death by her parents, Norbert and Maude Bergmann. She was married to Lloyd Isom for 44 years. She was a retired teacher of special needs students and that was the core of who she was. She was an accomplished author/editor. She served on the board of Hotel Inc.

She was a member of the Baptist faith. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid reader and loved all animals. The thing she loved the most, was spending time with her mother on the back porch bird watching.

She was survived by one daughter, Joy Colleen Kirby (Bradley), Alvaton; two brothers, Greg Bergmann, Bowling Green and Ken Bergmann, Indianapolis, IN; two grandchildren, Tyler Scott and Autumn Kate Kirby, Alvaton; two nieces, Stephanie and Jasmine Bergmann.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at J.C. Kirby and Son, Lovers Lane Chapel. A private funeral service will be held at 1:00 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky
