Obituary

Idella Phelps, 90, of Bowling Green, passed away in Magnolia Village, Bowling Green on Thursday, May 4, 2017. She was born in Roundhill, Kentucky, daughter of the late James Silas and Ora T. Dalton Arms. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Luther Phelps, and four sisters, Jean Higgs, Dorothy Dalton, Joyce Hayes and Eva Simpson.

Idella retired from Holley Carburetor. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Bridge Club.

Survivors include two daughters, Pam Cherry and Paula Hester, both of Bowling Green; two sons, David Phelps (Audrey), BG and Michael Phelps (Elizabeth), Foley, AL; two sisters, Nelda Massey, Edmonson County, KY, and Ada Howell, Louisville; two brothers, Marion Arms (Anna), Lafayette, IN and Ronnie Arms (Barbara), Butler County; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; several niece and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 pm Friday, May 12 at the JC Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel. The funeral service will be 12:00 noon Saturday, May 13 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery #2..

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Alzheimer's Association, 6100 Dutchman's Lane, Suite 401, Louisville, KY 40205 or Calvary Baptist, 3011 Elrod Rd, Bowling Green, KY 42104.
