Ernestine Marie “Tina” Duncan, 81, of Bowling Green passed away on Saturday April 13, 2019. Born February 10, 1938, on her parents’ family farm near Epley Station in Logan County, KY, she was preceded in death by her parents Ernest B. Williams and Bessie Marie (Nash) Williams.
Tina is survived by her loving husband of twenty-five years Daniel D. Duncan. Also surviving are her three children by a former marriage, daughter Deborah Anne (Frederickson) Barraza of Smith Grove, and sons Scott Stuart Frederickson (Laura Donner) of Louisville, and James Albert “Jay” Frederickson (Treasure Anne Walls) of Clarksville, IN.
Tina is also survived by five precious grandchildren: Caroline (Frederickson) Gann, twins Grace and Sarah Frederickson, Tawni (Barraza) Costa, and Noah Frederickson, and two great-grandchildren: Eleanor Catherine and Callum James Gann. Also surviving are her brother Dr. Charles Stanley Williams of Gainesville, Florida, two sisters, Mary Jo Young of Elizabethtown and Elizabeth Sue Spurlock of Bowling Green.
Tina graduated from Lewisburg High School in Logan County in 1956, where she was valedictorian of her class. She then graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1960 with the honor of “high distinction.” Later, she earned a Master’s Degree from Western Kentucky University. For many years Tina was employed with the Commonwealth of Kentucky Cabinet for Human Resources, Department for Employment Services in Bowling Green and Glasgow. In the year 2001, Tina was recognized for her many years of service as one who had demonstrated exceptional dedication and job expertise, along with extreme conscientious service to the public.
Through the years, Tina has been involved in numerous community activities including church work, Scouts, Order of the Eastern Star, Junior Woman’s Club, and Warren County Home Economics in Homemaking Club, Tina has also been engaged with nature (having the privilege of growing up on a farm), art, music, and UK sports.
Visitation will be from 9:30 AM-11:30 AM Wednesday April 17, 2019 at the J. C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel followed by a Memorial Service at 11:30 AM with burial to follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Russellville at 1:30 PM
