David Reese Steffey Jr., age 76, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at home with his family and a caregiver by his side in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

He was born March 8, 1944, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late David Reese Steffey and Charlie Carrie (Green) Steffey.

Survived by wife Linda Annette Steffey (Dixon)(55 years in September), daughter Jill Steffey, daughter Anna Demerly (Mike) and two grandchildren, Jaime and Edwin. He is also survived by his sisters, Sara “Sally” Green (Richard) and Margaret Johnson (Larry).

He was a supervisor and project engineer at Arvin in North Vernon, Indiana for 19 years. They were leaders of God’s Squad youth group in North Vernon, Indiana for 10 years.

He was a mechanical engineer at DESA for 19 years and worked at CASCO as a quality engineer for four years. He retired in December 2008. He attended Victory Hill Church.

Played softball for DESA for several years.

He and Linda did jail ministry at Warren County Jail for over 10 years with Victory Hill Church. He was active in Victory Hill Church (First Impressions, stage builder, small group leader, part of Hell House, part of the choir).

He flew two different ultralights, rode motorcycles, loved to build stuff, enjoyed houseboat trips, and was an avid runner and cyclist.
He was also a part of Wheel Power Christian Cyclists in 1997.

He was the inspiration for the founding of Rock Steady Boxing Bowling Green for people with Parkinson’s.

There will be a memorial service at Victory Hill Church 9593 Veterans Memorial Hwy Scottsville, Ky 42164 on July 25 at 2:00 pm. Arrangements have been entrusted to J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel.
