Obituary

Christine G. Hullett, 86 of Bowling Green, died peacefully on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky. Christine was born in the Plum Springs community on September 6, 1932 to the late Henry & Ruth Grimes. She was married to the late Robert (Bob) Hullett on May 14, 1955. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded by her sister, Dorothy Grimes Dixon. Christine was a graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School, Class of 1950, and Secretarial Program, Bowling Green Business University Commercial Dept, 1951. She worked as a Secretary for M. B. Williams Realty & Insurance (1951-1955) until shortly after her marriage to Bob. As her family grew, she opted to become a stay at home mother. Christine and her family lived near Somerset KY from 1961-1984. She returned to live in Bowling Green in 1984.Shortly after returning to Bowling Green she began working as a Receptionist for Lang Company (1984-2012). Christine was a faithful servant of the Lord throughout her life. She was a member of the Southside Church of Christ in Plano, KY. At home Christine kept busy with many tasks. She enjoyed working in her yard, raising a vegetable garden, and pursued several hand crafts including sewing and quilting. Her number one favorite past time was reading, especially books. She enjoyed utilizing the public libraries in cities where she resided. She loved going to the annual “Friends of the Library” book sale at the Bowling Green/Warren County Public Library. Her favorite day was “Bag Day” on Sunday afternoons.
Her surviving family includes two children; Christopher (Chris) Hullett and Rose Hullett, daughter in law Becky Meredith Hullett; one brother, Richard N. Grimes, Shreveport, LA; two grandchildren; Merideth Hullett Davis (Paul), Columbia, SC, Michelle Hullett Graves (Lukas), Germany; four great-grandchildren; Alexandria Graves, Thatcher Davis, Crosley Davis, Huxley; a special niece, Vicky Sexton, Franklin, KY, two sisters in law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2019 at J. C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery #2.
