Obituary

Brian Curtis Lance, husband, best friend and pretty boy to Charlene, his wife of more than 20 years; father, best friend and biggest supporter in all things of daughter Haylie, age 15, died Monday, February 10th, 2020, after waging a 17 month battle with Glioblastoma Brain Cancer (GBM).

In addition to Charlene and Haylie, Brian is survived by his mother Sharon Bishop of Hobbs, New Mexico; father Bill Lance and Annette of Valley, Alabama; brothers Kevin Lance and wife Kelly of Hobbs, New Mexico and Blair Bishop of Center Point, Alabama; sisters Tina Sasser King and husband Jason of Box Springs, GA and Cathy Watson and husband Billy of Cataula, Georgia; mother and father-in-law Amanda and Rudy Reddick of Bowling Green, KY and sister-in-law Cheryl Hatchel and husband Gary of Bowling Green, KY.

Brian is preceded in death by his stepfather Tracy Bishop, grand parents Ralph and Sarah Arnold and Bill and Wilma Bishop. He also leaves to mourn his passing many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters in law and more great friends than can be counted.

Brian was born in Honolulu, Hawaii at Hickam Air Force Base on February 10th, 1967. He also lived in Saint Petersburg, FL, Center Point, AL, Birmingham, AL, Greenbrier, TN and Bowling Green, KY.

Brian attended Northeast High School in St. Petersburg, FL and graduated from Erwin High School in Center Point, AL. He also attended Birmingham-Southern College in Birmingham, Alabama on a baseball scholarship as a pitcher. Brian was a member of the Crossland Community Church in Bowling Green, KY and had been the Branch Manager for Installed Building Products, IBP, in Bowling Green, KY.

His two passions in life were his wife Charlene and their daughter Haylie. He enjoyed playing golf, where he could out drive almost anyone, deep-sea fishing, grilling and he was always a HUGE supporter of the Florida Gators Football Team.

Brian was truly a blessing to all that knew him and he will be remembered by everyone who was fortunate enough to cross his path in this life. As was true throughout his life, Brian will continue to help others by donating his brain for research to the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University Hospital, in hopes of helping find a cure for Glioblastoma Brain Cancer.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 13, 2020 from 5 to 8 pm and Friday, February 14 from 12 pm to the time of services at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Funeral services will be Friday, February 14 at 2 pm at the funeral home with burial at a later date in the adjacent Bowling Green Gardens.
