Obituary

Barbara Ann (Douglas) York, 76 of Bowling Green, passed in her sleep on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at her residence. She was a Warren county native and the daughter of the late Garnet and Irene Douglas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bennie York, brother Roy Douglas, sister Norma Russell and her husband Daymon and brother-in-law Doyle Womack.

She Attended Southside Baptist Church and was a graduate of Warren County High School. She worked for Holley Carburetor for many years, then retired from Natcher Elementary so she could be close to her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Finch, husband Mark, her son Kevin York, wife Beverly all of Bowling Green, Grandchildren Casey Barnes, Hannah Robinson, husband Chris, Zach Finch, Luke York and Gage York, and great grand children, Caiden Robinson, Kinsley Barnes and Blaze Cox all of Bowling Green. She is also survived by her sisters Linda Abbott, husband Arnold and Brenda Womack and sister-in-law Molly Saba.

She loved spending time with her family and going to eat and shop with her sisters on Friday night. She loved cheering on her Kentucky Wildcats and never missed a basketball game.
She was a loving sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother.

Visitation will be tonight from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and tomorrow (Saturday) beginning at 10:00 a.m. at J. C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery #2.
