Docia Mildred Glasscock

Docia Mildred Jackson Glasscock, 99, of Alvaton died Friday at 2:28 a.m. at Greenview Regional Hospital.


She was born September 30, 1914 in Boyce, Kentucky to the late Isaac Luther and Ottie M. McCool Jackson. She is the widow of William Boyd "W.B." Glasscock to whom she was married to for 63 years. She is also preceded in death by her son, James Michael Glasscock; her daughter, Patsy Jane Glasscock; her sister and brothers, Agnes Glasscock, Garvey Jackson, and Robert Jackson.


She was a member of Mt. Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church for 68 years, where she taught Sunday School. She was a homemaker, a mother to many, and loved by all. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the piano fund at the Mt. Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church at 3400 Mt. Lebanon Church Road Alvaton, Kentucky 42122.

She is survived by her two daughters: Ann Glasscock of Alvaton and Martha Steele and husband Robbie of Plano; her son: Mitchell Glasscock and wife Marie of Alvaton; grandchildren: Michelle Corder and husband Allen, Michael Steele and wife Melissa, Jennifer Glass and husband Cory all of Alvaton; great grandchildren: Allen Michael and Mitch Corder, Taylor Steele, Jackson, Camden and Avajane Glass; several cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Visitation will be from 2 until 8 p.m. Friday at the J.C. Kirby and Son Broadway Chapel and after 10 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
